Chicago, Toronto Agree to Trade Tuesday, July 7th , 2026 Reports have surfaced that Chicago has agreed to send 24-year old minor league RHP DeAndre Otis and 18-year old minor league RHP David Thun to the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for 26-year old minor league RF J.D. Johnson. "It's a done deal," said one executive speaking on the condition of anonymity. "I'm surprised word got around so quickly. We just signed off on this an hour ago." The deal apparently is awaiting physicals before an official announcement is made by either team. Johnson has collected 8 hits for the Cubs this year, 2 of them home runs. He has also netted 4 RBIs and scored 4 runs while batting .471. |
