Lake Wylie Downs Atlanta as Mannon Tosses 1-0 Shutout
Friday, June 19th , 2026
The Lake Wylie Renegades did little to support starter John Mannon against the Atlanta Braves, but it turned out he didn't need the help.
The right-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Braves, striking out 5 and surrendering 3 hits. The performance from Mannon allowed Lake Wylie to escape with the 1-0 win, despite an anemic offense.
"Nobody came to me and said, 'John, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Mannon told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it."
To date, Mannon has a 5-4 mark in 15 starts with a 2.58 ERA. He has given up 97 hits in 101.1 innings, struck out 82 and issued 16 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .258 batting average against him.
