Jupiter Stops Lockwood Hit Streak
Tuesday, June 30th , 2026
It was a doubly miserable day for Randy Lockwood of the St. Lucie Mets, as he saw his 22-game hitting streak end and his team lose, 5-3, to the Jupiter Hammerheads at Citi Field. The 21-year-old right fielder was held hitless in 4 at-bats by the Hammerheads.
"Anyone on a 22-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Jupiter manager Nate Lockwood said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done."
This season, Lockwood is hitting at a .357 pace with 4 home runs, 21 RBIs and has scored 29 times.
