McMillan on Fire, 5-for-5 Against Clearwater Sunday, June 21st , 2026 Ryan McMillan knows as well as anyone that in baseball, the biggest contracts go to the biggest hitters. At Threshers Park, he made his case to be considered among that group. The 21-year-old first baseman hammered 5 hits in 5 chances, though the remarkable effort came even as his St. Lucie Mets fell, 9-4, to the Clearwater Threshers. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," Threshers manager Jerry Scott told BNN sportswriters after the game. "Thankfully, we were able to do enough elsewhere that McMillan wasn't the difference." Ryan McMillan hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
