Akron Tops New Hampshire Thursday, September 17th , 2026 It's party time in Akron. The confetti is flying and residents are smiling. The Akron RubberDucks have reached the mountaintop, capturing the 2026 Round 1 today. They defeated the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 3-1 at Fisher Cats Field to officially wrap up the series 4-3. Asked how it feels to be a champion, right fielder Jeff Hynes was to the point. "It feels great, like a million bucks. I'm so happy right now, not just for me but for all the guys," he said. "We put a lot of work into this and deserve to be champions." The team is planning a victory parade and fan appreciation day later in the week. Akron finished the regular season 77-63 and claimed first place in the Southwest Division. |
