5-for-5 Game for Johnson Monday, July 6th , 2026 After his 5-hit effort at Fisher Cats Field was tarnished by Portland's 9-6 loss to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, second baseman Glen Johnson told BNN beat writers it was "a missed opportunity for a special day." "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "I would have been happy to stop there if it meant we got a win." He didn't get the win, but the 22-year-old had a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Fisher Cats. "His swing is getting there," said Sea Dogs skipper Alejandro Zamorano after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Glen did that to perfection and we wasted it." Glen Johnson hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Danny Hernandez in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 8th. |
