Forehand Batters New Hampshire Big Time
Sunday, June 28th , 2026
A jubilant Steve Forehand joined the postgame press conference at Fisher Cats Field to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats pitching staff he had just vanquished.
"It may not have looked like it," said the Somerset Patriots second baseman, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different."
That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-6 hitting performance, which led to the 8-7 Patriots win.
"He made it look easy," said Marcos Ochoa, manager of the Fisher Cats. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously."
Steve Forehand doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Mike Wilkinson in the 7th, struck out in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 10th.
On the season, Forehand is batting .246 with 1 home run and 7 RBIs. He has played in 16 games.
