Indians Heading to Round 2
Sunday, September 20th , 2026
The Indianapolis Indians and Syracuse Mets didn't hold back anything in the Round 1, with each team pulling out all the stops in an effort to advance to the Round 2.
Indianapolis won the final game by a score of 8-7 at Citi Field and that concluded the series, 4-3.
"Relief is the biggest thing," Indianapolis left fielder Miguel Fana said when asked how he felt. "It's a grind both mentally and physically to have a long series like this, but our guys stuck with it and Syracuse deserves credit for the hard fight."
Fana paced the Indianapolis offence and earned MVP honors. For the series, he hit .480 with a .519 on-base percentage, 2 home runs, 9 RBI and scored 7 runs.
The Indianapolis Indians will play against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp in the next round. Jacksonville won their series against the Charlotte Knights 4 games to 3. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
