Jumbo Shrimp Advance to Round 2 Sunday, September 20th , 2026 A classic and dramatic Round 1 has wrapped up, with the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp outlasting the Charlotte Knights to advance to the Round 2. Jacksonville won the final game by a score of 2-1 and took the series 4-3. "We can enjoy this one tonight, but then it's back to work and thinking about the next win," said Jacksonville center fielder Fernando Fierro, whose standout performance earned him the nod as series MVP. Fierro hit .433 with a .469 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 5 runs. The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Indianapolis Indians - Syracuse Mets series. That series is tied at 3 games apiece. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
