Worcester Sweeps into the Round 2 Wednesday, September 16th , 2026 It's a sweet sweep for the Worcester Red Sox and they have won the Round 1. The Memphis Redbirds were not able to keep pace with the Red Sox and dropped the series in short order, losing, 10-0, in the deciding game. "This wasn't really the effort we hoped for," said Memphis manager R.J. Slater. It's now on to the Round 2 for Worcester after their 4-0 series win. Leading the way for the winners was first baseman Danny Tyler, who was named MVP. For the series, Tyler hit .562 with a .562 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 7 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Worcester Red Sox don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Gwinnett Stripers - Louisville Bats series. Gwinnett leads the series 3 games to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
