Injury Derails Season for Smith Tuesday, July 7th , 2026 "Not what I wanted to hear," said Jacksonville's Jeremy Smith to reporters this afternoon, as he revealed that the injury he sustained on 07/04/2026 would force him to miss the rest of the season. "The doctor made it clear," Smith said. "There's no chance for me -- none at all -- to come back this year. That's the last thing I wanted to hear." Smith has been out of action since he suffered a torn labrum. Smith has taken the hill for 13 relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 2-1 record with a 1.91 ERA. The Jacksonville reliever has limited opposing batters to a .218 batting average. |
