After a 5-hit effort to lead Indianapolis's 16-2 victory over the Norfolk Tides, center fielder Norman Grinter told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the International League-level is really something special."

The 22-year-old player earned his accolades at Indians Grove with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Tides.

"His swing is getting there," said Indians skipper Elijah White, who spoke glowingly of Grinter after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Norman did that to perfection."

Norman Grinter struck out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Devon Pitt in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit a three-run double in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.

This season, Grinter is batting .293 with 21 RBIs, 17 runs scored and 4 home runs.
