Buffalo Halts Martinez's Hitting Steak Monday, June 22nd , 2026 Francisco Martinez's 22-game hitting streak was snapped at Jumbo Shrimp Grove. The 23-year-old Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp shortstop failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats in the game against the Buffalo Bisons, but Jacksonville came out the winner, 4-3. "I don't think the streak was ever a big deal to Francisco," Jumbo Shrimp manager John Boatwright said after the game. "He ain't that type of guy. He just wants to help the team win ballgames." For the season, Martinez is hitting at a .379 clip with 3 home runs, 36 RBIs and has scored 38 runs. He has 96 hits, 14 walks and a .407 on-base percentage. |
