Alcantar goes 3-for-4 in Renegades Win
|
The home team gave the crowd at Renegades Field something to cheer about.
Led by Alex Alcantar, the Lake Wylie Renegades downed the Detroit Tigers, 7-0. Alcantar went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for the Renegades. Vic Garcia was the winner. He's now 5-5. The loser was 23-year old right-handed pitcher Chris Douglass. Alex Choto earned his 2nd save in 3 chances.
With Lake Wylie leading 4-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Alcantar came up to bat against Detroit pitcher Ryan File. Alcantar hit a fastball to right-center for a 3-run home run. His 15th home run of the season put the Renegades on top, 7-0.
"It feels good to get this one," Alcantar told the Lake Wylie Gazette.
Lake Wylie is now 88-74, while Detroit is 92-70.
