Schiller Hits 2 home runs in Renegades Win
|
The Lake Wylie Renegades defeated the San Francisco Giants, 9-4, in National League action at Renegades Field. Rob Schiller pulled his weight. The 13-year veteran was 2-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. He scored 4 runs and drove in 2. Vic Garcia, credited with the save, is now 1 for 4 in save opportunities. Lake Wylie improves to 43-31 with the win. They lead their division by 8 games.
Toshimitsu Okimoto had a big bases-clearing double for the Renegades in the bottom of the third inning. With Lake Wylie leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 28-year old right-handed pitcher George Lloyd and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Renegades ahead, 5-0.
"There's a lot of passion in our clubhouse," said Schiller. "When we put it together we're a great ball club."
