Rockets Drop Orioles, 4-3

The River Hills Rockets did just enough to sneak past the Baltimore Orioles, 4-3, at River Hills Grounds. River Hills pitcher Andy Thomas, in particular, had a standout performance. The winning pitcher was Thomas, now 2-2. He tossed 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 4. Fred Dickens notched his 1st save in 2 chances.
The Rockets got a big at-bat from right fielder Ian Koonce. For the game, Koonce was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave River Hills a 4-1 lead.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said River Hills manager Blake Wheeler.
River Hills goes to 28-44, Baltimore to 44-27.
